Baby Lillie | Maryland Family Photographer

Boy, do I have a treat for you!  While I normally don’t shoot newborn photos, Jennifer, a very sweet friend from college, asked me to take pictures of her adorable little family- how can I say no to that!?  Jennifer and Abdoulaye welcomed their beautiful little girl into the world in December, and she was ready to model for me when I came by a few weeks ago!  It was such a pleasure to meet Lillie and photograph this sweet family together.  Enjoy a few of my faves from the shoot…

This Year

I’ve been thinking a lot about this post, and I didn’t want it to become just another “these are my New Year’s Resolutions that I’m going to break in about a week” post…yup, been there, done that!  Today begins my last year in my twenties, which is just crazy to think about!  So much has happened over the last week for me to reflect on, and I haven’t quite gotten to the point where I can put all of my thoughts into words just yet.

Looking back on this year, I know there were many ups and downs, but I’m lucky to say that must were ups.  And those downs…I can only hope that looking back on them will help me move forward.  I am so beyond blessed to always be surrounded by incredibly supportive people (my amazing husband, family, and friends) who understand that sometimes I may need time to myself, or maybe need a hug, or maybe need just a few heartfelt words.  These people undoubtedly support my dreams, no matter what, and I am SO grateful for this.

So this year,  I want to live with intention.

This year, I want to put the computer aside and recognize that the little moments are sometimes the best.  Those moments should not be missed.

This year, I want to shoot for myself, not just for my business.

This year, I want to live with wellness.  I so enjoy going to my crossfit gym, but crazy schedules and excuses always get in the way.

And lastly, this year, I want to plan a little less with my time.  I know, that definitely seems a little counterproductive.  I love “free time” because Jaeson and I very rarely get it- well, this year, I want more of that.  I want more of that time to just relax and appreciate the amazing things and people I have in my life.:)

New Year Photo Giveaway!

It’s 2015! Hooray!  I am so excited to start this year off with a bang! This weekend I’ll be away from the office kicking my business into gear at the Creative at Heart Conference!  I have been looking forward to this inspiring conference designed for women who run their own small businesses in the wedding industry.  It doesn’t get much better than that!  So while I’m out doing that, I figured I’d help start this year out great for one lucky couple

…with an Instagram contest for a FREE PHOTO SHOOT! YES! 😀

I am SO EXCITED for the contest, and I’ve just been itching to announce it for awhile now- I just figured I’d wait til January 1st!  This photo shoot is eligible for all couples!  It doesn’t matter if you’ve been dating three months, are engaged, newlyweds, or have been married for 35 years!  If you want professional pictures with you and your boo, you MUST enter this contest!  Don’t worry families, if the response to this contest is big, there might just be another contest for a family shoot giveaway too, so stay tuned and spread the word!:)

Here’s the deal, yo!  You can find all of the information on my Instagram feed– so first thing’s first, if you don’t follow me, go do that now!  I update my Instagram feed way more than I update my blog!  So here’s how it works:

1.  Follow @Helloangelinaphoto on Instagram

2.  Post a picture of you and your boo on your Instagram! It can be whatever picture you’d like, whether it’s a #tbt, a selfie, an embarrassing picture from New Year’s Eve, a wedding picture!  Whatever you’d like!

3.  Here’s the most important part- you MUST make sure to hashtag #angelinaphotogiveaway and TAG me (@helloangelinaphoto)., otherwise I might not see your entry! Don’t forget to tell me WHY you want this free shoot and who is in the picture with you!

3.  Comment on my Instagram picture that announces the contest and let me know that you entered (and if you also shared on Facebook).:)

That’s IT!  Easy, right?!

Want a couple BONUS entries?!  You’ll receive an extra entry for each of the below:

– Tag 3 Instagram friends when you post your picture!  They might want to win a free photo shoot too!!

– Share your Instagram picture on your Facebook page when you post it!  Make sure you let me know that you did this when you comment on the original post!!

The winner will be announced on my BIRTHDAY, January 7th! WOO HOO!  All entries must be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday, January 7th!

**The shoot must take place in the DC Metro area.  Shoots last approximately an hour, and must take place on a weekend (exceptions apply, pending availability).  Shoot must take place in the 2015 calendar year. Winner will receive an online gallery of 50-70 high-resolution images to download at no extra fee. **

GOOD LUCK and Happy 2015!!

Christmas Gifts for My Amazing 2014 Couples

angelina_photography_meadowlark_gardens_northern_virginia_washington_dc_wedding_photographer_233I am so so grateful for the brides & grooms I worked with this season, and I could not think of a better way to say “thanks” than to send them a beautifully hand-crafted Artifact Uprising Calendar complete with pictures from their big day!  I can’t say enough wonderful things about Artifact Uprising.  In fact,  last year I sent in a TON of orders so I could give relatives personalized calendars from my very own wedding!  Jaeson even received his own, which he proudly displays on his desk at work.  I always look forward to receiving a note from him on the beginning of each month, reminding me which image I chose to display for that month on his calendar.  I’m just sad to say that this is the last month of our very own wedding calendar, but who knows, maybe I’ll make these photos the gifts that keep on giving, and turn them into calendars to display for years to come! 😉

Ok, onto the client gifts!  I just LOVE the way these turned out, and I hope that my amazing brides & grooms were so happy to see their images printed!  For the next twelve months, they’ll be able to display these images proudly.  I truly hope that when they turn the page to a new month, they will be reminded of wonderful memories from their day that will hopefully bring smiles to their faces.:)

Is this a gift you’d like to receive?  Let me know what you think!

The calendar back is made out of beetle wood reclaimed from Colorado!  I love that it can sit on your desk like a clipboard or you can use the magnet to hang it up!  Also, if you save the calendar back, you can order a refill pack for the following year using whatever images you would like!angelina_photography_meadowlark_gardens_northern_virginia_washington_dc_wedding_photographer_234angelina_photography_meadowlark_gardens_northern_virginia_washington_dc_wedding_photographer_235angelina_photography_meadowlark_gardens_northern_virginia_washington_dc_wedding_photographer_236

I used Paper Source boxes and box filling, and I was lucky enough to find these Amazing J.Crew nautical gift tags. PERFECT!angelina_photography_meadowlark_gardens_northern_virginia_washington_dc_wedding_photographer_237angelina_photography_meadowlark_gardens_northern_virginia_washington_dc_wedding_photographer_238angelina_photography_meadowlark_gardens_northern_virginia_washington_dc_wedding_photographer_239angelina_photography_meadowlark_gardens_northern_virginia_washington_dc_wedding_photographer_240angelina_photography_meadowlark_gardens_northern_virginia_washington_dc_wedding_photographer_241angelina_photography_meadowlark_gardens_northern_virginia_washington_dc_wedding_photographer_242

To all of my amazing 2014 brides & grooms, thank you, THANK YOU, for making my year so special!  I hope these gifts help you appreciate and remember your perfect wedding days!  Here’s to a happy and healthy 2015 (with lots of beautiful images)! 😉

Wishing You a Very Merry Christmas | 2014

Christmas definitely snuck up on me, and even though I swore I would finally cross over to being a real adult this year by sending out Christmas cards…I failed.  I figure people would rather have cute cards of puppies and babies on their fridges anyway, so I’m doing you all a favor by doing a Blog Christmas Card instead (um, is that a thing?).   Jen, the owner of Jennifer Kulakowski Photography, met up with Jaeson and I just a few minutes before the sun went down!  We were so lucky to have such a beautiful sunset lighting up the sky that evening, and I am so appreciative that she took time out of her crazy new-mom schedule to snap a few photos!  Jaeson and I hardly ever get pictures together…in fact, that might be one of my New Year’s Resolutions.  Don’t worry, I won’t blow up your newsfeed with selfies.

Thank you so much, Jen, for these photos!  We’re so grateful for them and it’s such a wonderful way to end 2014!

Finally, Jaeson and  I wish you all a safe, healthy, and Very Merry Christmas!  We hope you spend the day with the ones you love! <3
