Let me start this post by saying that I had been looking forward to this wedding for well over a year. Andrea asked me to shoot her and John’s wedding before I had even really established my business, and not only was I honored to be asked, but I was beyond excited. Ok, let me back up a little- I have known Andrea since seventh grade when I transferred to a different school in New Jersey. After only a few short days, I had started new friendships that I knew were going to last for years- mostly because they were fueled by our love for boy bands (We had daily debates on who was better, *Nsync or BSB…definitely *Nsync). Our group was tight, and when Andrea moved away to MD in 8th grade, we were all devastated. Before Andrea and I started meeting again to talk about wedding details, the last time I had seen her was at her 16th birthday party (when we danced to “Bye Bye Bye” in her kitchen haha)…but regardless, I felt like I didn’t miss a thing over the last 8 years. The group met John for the first time at that party, and it was apparent, even almost 10 years ago, that they were in love. I mean in L.O.V.E. Any guy that can handle a crazy, teeny-bopper group of girls for a whole weekend was DEFINITELY cool in our books. 😉
So, as I was saying, October 16th had been a long time coming- I was so excited to see all of my girls, some that I hadn’t seen since 8th grade graduation! I knew that if you brought together a bunch of Jersey Girls, some good music, and a reason to celebrate- we were bound to have an a-maaazing night! I started out taking pictures at Andrea’s apartment with her awesome bridesmaids (lots of dancing, cheers, etc.) and then we moved over the the ceremony/reception site, Valley Country Club in Towson. Beyond being just plain excited for the wedding, I’ll admit- I was nervous too. I knew it was going to be a challenge because practically the whole wedding would be shot with flash, since it started after sunset. Believe me, I was up for the challenge…and it definitely pushed me to try different lighting techniques, etc. Ok, so after allll that blabbing, I think it’s now time to take a look at Andrea and John tying the knot 😉
Let me just say that their wedding party was the best set of “random talkers” ever!
For the toast, Cassie and John (Andrea’s siblings) performed the song that Adam Sandler sings to Drew Barrymore at the end of “The Wedding Singer.” Ok, seriously, these two put everybody elses’ toasts in THE WORLD to shame. Awesome, guys.
Ok, please pay close attention to the following picture. Now THAT’S fist-pumpin’! You can take the girl out of Jersey, but you can’t take Jersey out of the girl. 😉
Awww, the crew is back together! You girls are all still as amazing as the day I met you!(L to R: Lauren, me, Andrea, Caitlin, Nicole aka Buddy, Becky)
Andrea and John, thank you thank you thaaaank you for letting me celebrate with you both! You two have clearly been in love since the day you met, and I can’t wait to see what the future brings! 😀
